Making America Great Again ~ Tacoma 2012

“Pierce County is the epicenter of Washington’s Republican renaissance” says state attorney general and gubernatorial candidate Rob McKenna. In fact, the strategic importance of Pierce County to GOP victories up and down the ballot in 2012 cannot be over-stated.
We are “ground zero” politically, not only in the governor’s race but in targeted legislative contests that can bring new responsible leadership to Olympia.

THAT’s why Pierce County was picked as the convention site – along with having the best facilities and surroundings anywhere and the most generous and friendly spirit you’ll find in our state.

Did we mention we are proud?

It’s a unique opportunity to show off – before a national audience – our local treasures, including the convention center, world class museums and event venues, first rate restaurants and hotels, neighborhood pubs, theaters, shops, markets and one-of-a-kind attractions.

Did we mention we are excited?

Casual observers might view political conventions as just a bunch of passionate people parading around in funny hats. . .clad in red, white and blue attire. . . sporting buttons that flash. . .waving candidate signs and watching balloons drop. Well, that. . . .

But what you’ll want to appreciate is that a mix of activists and ordinary citizens will visit our community for four days to recommend policy direction to state and national political leaders and to pick Washington’s delegates to the Republican National Convention.

From the millions of voters in Washington State, only 43 individuals will have the privilege of representing our state in nominating the GOP candidate for PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES. Those 43 will be chosen right here. In Tacoma. On June 1st and 2nd, 2012. We’ll be making history here in Pierce County. That’s why we are excited!
