4 Lakewood Police Officers Killed in Parkland Coffee Shop
Candidate for Congress (WA-9), Dick Muri and the campaign team have been following the news about the four Lakewood Police Officers murdered this morning at the Forza Coffee Shop at Steele Street and 116th Street in Parkland, Washington near McChord Air Force Base.
The officers, three male and one female, were in uniform working on reports on their laptops before starting on duty on Sunday morning.
The shooter, who may have acted alone, is still at large at the time of this press release. “We need to express sorrow towards the families and anger at this murder of four of our fellow citizens who are trained to protect and serve,” said Muri. “And our hope that the recent ‘cold blooded’ murders in Seattle and Fort Hood do not represent a dangerous national trend for all those in our public safety positions.”
Our local police officers are the backbone for keeping our communities safe. Let us remember those who put their lives on the line to help establish peace and justice for us and our loved ones.
A prayer vigil will be held at the Tacoma Champion Centre tonight at 6:00 P.M. to honor and pray for the officers and their families (1819 E. 72nd Street Tacoma, WA 98404).
